Iris Umbra Pictures is a registered film production company and international distribution network based in Europe, operating across borders, languages, and cinematic traditions.
We create, produce, and distribute films as artworks, not products.
Born as an independent initiative and evolved into a structured company, Iris Umbra Pictures exists as a response to the current state of contemporary cinema — a landscape increasingly driven by overcapitalization, creative bureaucracy, and creative exhaustion. While audiences continue to seek meaning, emotion, and cinematic experience, major studios prioritize scale, algorithms, and financial extraction, often at the expense of cinema history and artistic integrity.
We believe cinema is not content. Cinema is language, memory, risk, and emotion.
